CARPA - A major recycler of paper-based materials
With more than 40 years of experience, our recycling operations in Spain (CARPA), play a key role in how we bring the circular economy to life in the country. Wholly owned by IP and situated on the premises of our Madrid recycled containerboard mill, the business is among the largest recyclers in the wider Madrid area, operating three waste treatment and recovery warehouses in Fuenlabrada, Vicálvaro and Toledo.
CARPA’s main activity is to collect used paper and cardboard for recycling at our Madrid mill in Fuenlabrada. After the material has been sorted and classified, it’s ready to be transformed into new high-quality recycled containerboard. Our box plants then convert this paper into corrugated boxes that will be used to store, transport and display everyday consumer products before users dispose of them to be recycled again.

Integral waste management
We collect and manage all waste generated in your facilities, hazardous and non-hazardous, guaranteeing correct treatment and disposal and managing required documentation in accordance with data management and environmental legislation.
Where possible we arrange transformation into valuable new raw materials. Our services also include general waste management advice.
Secure and confidential waste management
We handle the certified destruction of confidential documentation and other materials in accordance with data management and environmental legislation.
Selective collection and transportation
Our services span the selective collection and transportation of mono material from public recycling containers, waste from Municipal Clean Points as well as individual door-to-door collection service for shops and businesses. We also offer environmental awareness programs.
Locations
CARPA operates three recycling centers in Spain, equipped with the most advanced technology and certified by AENOR according to the UNE-EN ISO 9001:2015 and UNE-EN ISO 14001:2015 standards.
