International Paper’s Twin Pizza Box recognized with a WorldStar 2024

Heads-up for customers in Spain in the pizza delivery business: International Paper has won yet another year's WorldStar Award 2024 in the e-Commerce category: this time for our 'Twin Pizza Box'. 

It’s the second consecutive year for International Paper to win this category: Last year, our ‘E-Secure Box’ had been recognized. The WorldStars of Packaging, given by the World Packaging Organization since 1970, represent the most important international product award in our sector.

Originally developed in response to a customer's need for packaging for their 2-for-1 pizza promotions, the 'Twin Pizza Box' is a great solution whenever pizzas are sold in pairs. Designed to transport two pizzas in a single container, it presents a new concept where the space of one is used for the logistics of two. ‘The Twin Pizza Box’ is easy to be assembled manually, uses less material and takes less space both in the warehouse and during delivery. In addition, its Z-system allows the end consumer to access both pieces easily. 

Emiliano Guainella, Commercial Director Europe at International Paper, points out that "with the Twin Pizza Box we were looking to solve logistical problems that would allow us to improve efficiency and offer the customer a superior experience. The design saves space and costs, and the built-in cardboard triangle plates make the product more convenient to consume”.

In October 2023, this innovative pizza packaging won the 'Best Food Packaging' category at the LiderPack Awards, a Spanish national design award that allowed the ‘Twin Pizza Box’ to compete in the global worldwide WorldStar awards.
